Even Keel - Chardonnay 2022

A classic Tumbarumba Chardonnay that is softly spoken in texture and coolly energetic.

Mineral rich earth, white nectarines, stone fruit, florals, and a touch of oak on the nose. A subtle mineral core on the palate, accompanied by flavours of fresh lemon, citrus and stone fruit, which give way to notes of vanilla, oak-nuttiness, and ginger. Soft and round in texture, dry, light to medium bodied, harmonious with energetic acid, and a long mineral-spice driven finish.

NERD NOTES

Grown on the Courabyra Vineyard in Tumbarumba, New South Wales - the site is at 700m+ altitude, with a western facing slope, and is comprised of red granite soils.

Grapes are hand picked before being gently pressed as whole bunches (using a champagne press), with the juice left to oxidise to remove oxidative particles pre-fermentation.

Wine is fermented in old French Oak barrels, with full solids, using indigenous yeasts. Aged for 10 months in barrel, completing malolactic fermentation, before gross lees are racked off and it is transferred to a tank.

Wine is bottled unfined, minimal filtration, and minimal sulphur.
