An outstanding and elegant expression of Zierfandler, a lesser known Austrian variety local to Thermenregion.
Notes of soft, bright Bergamot, ripe apricot, almond nuttiness, spice, and an almost-but-not-quite honeyed quality, all packed around a saline-mineral core. Dry and medium bodied on the palate, soft and lush in texture, and vibrant acidity keeping it all balanced. It beautifully opens up in the glass, revealing new depths with every sip.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
All work is done by hand without irrigation, all farming and vineyard management is organic with certification still underway for most vineyard sites.
The Reinisch family is the fourth generation of winegrowers to cultivate vineyards in the most valuable locations around the traditional winegrowing villages of Tattendorf and Gumpoldskirchen. The special quality of the alluvial brown earth soils lies in their great permeability, which ensures quick drainage and rapid warming and thus eminently favours the ripening process of the grapes. The high lime content brings a pronounced chalky minerality to the wines and makes the Johanneshof Reinisch vineyards particularly suitable for cultivating vines of the Pinot family. Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Chardonnay are the main varieties on other. In addition, Rotgipfler and Zierfandler are cultivated on suitable terroir in the nearby village of Gumpoldskirchen.
Thee vinification of these wines, while preserving their beautiful varietal character, is just as concise as that of all the other wines from this renowned winery. In accordance with the micro-climate conditions, about 60% of the wines from Johanneshof Reinisch are red, 40% are white and sweet wines. The ethos here can be seen in the personal attention of the vintners to the wine. The brothers Johannes, Christian, and Michael Reinisch cultivate the vineyards according to organic guidelines, encouraging beneficial insects through cover crops and wildflower planting
