A Thousand Gods - Love Letters Rose 2021

A brilliant light red/rose/chilled red from New Zealand in the style of Tavel et all.

Juicy red fruits with notes of citrus and spice. Elegant tannin and fresh acidity. Chilled not cold.

55% whole bunch Pinot noir (semi-carbonic 7 day ferment), 35% Viognier (5 day skin contact with plenty of whole bunches) and 10% Sauvignon Blanc (5 day skin contact destemmed) meld to make chill red perfection.

All varieties were harvested separately at their ideal maturities, aged for 11 months on lees in a combination of old oak and stainless steel and blended before bottling to produce the wine with the best balance.

THE ESTATE

A Thousand Gods is the project of Lauren and Simon Sharpe. The widely experienced duo have worked across the globe and spent 11 years working in France before heading to New Zealand. 

The fruit comes from the organic/biodynamic Churton Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough. The wines are unfined and made with no additions, including no sulphur at any stage.
