A single varietal Carménère from the father of Chilean biodynamic wine!
Producer: Antiyal - Alvaro and Marina Espinoza
Region: Maipo Valley, Chile
Grapes: Carménère
Earthy in character, with flavours of dry ripe berries and currants, fruit spice, a touch of herbal leaf, and tobacco.
Dry and richly on the palate, elegant earthy tannin, mineral acidity, resulting in a smoothly lush yet grippy texture. Finishes long with notes of fruit spice and tobacco.
Nerd Notes:
Grapes are grown with organic and biodynamic practices, and are hand harvested.
Gently fermented using indigenous yeasts.
Aged for twelve months in egg-shaped concrete tanks, to preserve the volcanic terroir of the Maipo Valley.
