🍷 Juicy & Chillable Reds

Tasting Notes

A delicious Palhete - a traditional Portuguese style that is made from a field blend of red and white grapes, sitting between a dark rose and a light chilled red.

Brightly fruited in aroma, with subtle red berries, blood orange, grapefruit, and red stone fruits.
Red fruited in flavour, with raspberries, red cherries, and light redcurrants, pomegranate and blood orange highlights, savoury tones of dried herbs, fruit spice, and a mineral crunch.

Fresh and crunch on the palate, light bodied and dry, juicy and a touch tart in texture with bright acidity and a light tannic grip, moreish with a long finish.

Nerd Notes

A field blend of traditional Arribas do Douro grapes (50% red & 50% white grapes) from Trás-os-Montes, Portugal.

The grapes come from the village of Travanca, with 70+ year old vines growing in granite, schist, and clay soils sitting around 600 to 700m altitute.

The grapes are hand harvested and selected, before being crushed as whole bunches through foot trodding, and macerated on skins for 48 hours.

The wine undergoes fermentation in austrian oak barrels, where it then goes through malolactic fermentation, before being aged for 9 months in tank.

Bottled with minimal added sulphur.
