Barco del Corneta - 'Cucu' Verdejo 2020

Barco del Corneta is the incredible one woman venture of owner-winemaker-viticulturist Beatriz Herranz. A recent addition to the Spanish wine landscape, yet since her first vintage in 2010, Beatriz has been turning out some sublime examples of Verdejo.

Cucu, named in deference to the frogs who populate her organically farmed vineyard, is fermented and aged in stainless steel, whole pressed by stomping on top of a basket press loaded with whole bunches, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, the only addition being a low dose of sulphur at bottling.
