Soft and expressive Petit Verdot, a Winter warmer packed into a glass.
Ripe plums, cherries, and dark fruit flavours, with layers of cinnamon, cloves, spice, and dried herbs, on top of an earthy tone.
Weighty on the palate, dry, medium to rich in bodied, with chewy fruit tannin and a hint of acidity keeping it all approachable.
Nerd Notes
Petit Verdot from Langhorne Creek, South Australia.
The grapes come from the Watkins Vineyard, with vines growing on clay soils over limestone, near Lake Alexandria.
The fruit is picked and destemmed before being fermented with natural yeasts. Pressed into seasoned French barriques, where it is aged for eight months before bottling.
