A seriously good and elegant light red blend from the Yarra Valley, Victoria.
Fresh and perfumed on the aroma, with crushed red and dark berries, bright floral notes, herbaceous-ness, and a touch of spice - like a garden in the midst of summer. Soft and bright on the palate, light bodied, with chewy-yet-fine, dense tannin and a depth of complexity. Flavours of raspberry, crushed berries, bramble fruit, sour cherry, dusty spice, peppercorn, garden herbs, and a leafy herbaceous-ness. Complex on the finish.
There's a delightful interplay between its varied notes and structure, resulting in a delicious, easy drinking red.

NERD NOTES
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petit Verdot, and 5% Pinot Noir
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are interplanted (field blend) and are harvested together, the Pinot Noir grows beside these vines and is harvested separately. An expansive east facing slope with silt loam soils in Yarra Glen on the Christmas Hills escarpment.
The Vintage
The 2022/23 season was a tale of two halves. Unrelenting wet conditions in spring made vineyard work difficult and disease pressure high. From December, that hard work was repaid in full when we were granted 3 months of lovely mild and dry conditions for the vines to finish their season’s work with relative ease, the grapes ripening slowly and steadily. Some yields were drastically reduced due to the wet spring but the wine quality is exceptional. The 2023 wines have depth, concentration and purity and we’re excited to release this little preview of what’s to come.
Winemaking
Hand harvested, a small portion crushed with the remaining whole-bunches placed on top for a 7 day maceration. Pressed to an equal mix of small oak casks and stainless steel tanks for the completion of ferments and maturation over winter. The G-blend was blended in late winter and bottled 4 weeks later without fining or filtration.

ABOUT BOBAR WINES
Bobar wines are grown locally and made in Yarra Glen on the western side of the Yarra Valley. Tom & Sally have shared a farming and winemaking dream since 1998 when they met at Charles Sturt University studying Viticulture. Together they have worked, traveled
and studied, building experience and refining their craft.
Bobar wines are farmed without synthetic pesticides and herbicides by close friends. Tom & Sally have a life-long relationship with these vineyards, every day they learn a little more nuance and detail about their geology and soils, and their relationship to the wind, sun and rain.
Bobar wines are made entirely by hand, using no filtration, heating, cooling or additives. They are authentic, vibrant and sustainable wines made with precision and care. Bobar wines have been recognised locally and abroad and are served in some of the most renowned, progressive and welcoming restaurants around the world.
