A classic expression of this quiet corner of Saint-Émilion, made by the Pueyo family, who’ve been farming here since 1853. They know their vines, and it shows.

Producer: Christophe Pueyo

Region: Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France

Grapes: Merlot and Cabernet Franc

Expect a palate of dark fruits—blackberry, blackcurrant, brooding plum, spiced cherry—layered with cedar, smoked leather, dried herbs and earth.

Structured on the palate, dry and medium bodied with fine tannins, lifted with bright acidity. Serious without being heavy.

Serve with food, or give it time to stretch out in the cellar.

NERD NOTES

Tellus Vinea was made with grapes from Pueyo's vineyard bordering Lalande de Pomerol, hand harvested, cold macerated for 3 days and alcoholic fermentation took about a week. Matured in stainless steel and cement tanks, racked throughout, fined with egg-whites and bottled.

The fruit is estate-grown and farmed organically, with biodynamic practices in play. Winemaking is precise but unfussy: hand-harvested, cold macerated, naturally fermented over a week, and matured in stainless steel and cement. No oak, no excess. Just texture, detail, and clarity.
