Elegant, light and fresh with lovely delicate tannins from the comparatively short 3-day maceration (as opposed to the months of skin contact Mtsvane usually sees). It's a very pretty amber colour, with a nose of white florals, ripe yellow and stone fruits, honey and dried herbs. Intense fruit on the palate harmonised by a saline finish. Ancient Georgian winemaking meets organic wine lovers.
Traditionally aged and fermented on skins in large buried Kvevris (amphora).

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Two wine loving friends started making organic wine in 2014. Our mission became the goal of creating the finest organic wines using ancient Georgian techniques. Our grapes are harvested from bio vineyards located in different parts of Georgia. The wines are made with wild yeast and free from any additives. Most of the wines are fermented with skins and aged in Kvevris which are traditional clay pots used in Georgia.
NERD NOTES
Mtsvane is old Georgian sort of grape, it is from the east side of Georgia, Kakheti area, akhmeta Region village Ojio.
Organic/biodynamic (uncertified) fruit grown on clay soils. Low intervention and spontaneous fermentation, with indigenous yeasts, then 1 month on skins in qvevri. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. 50mg/L Sulphites and 12% ABV.
