Sneaky treat this as we kept a few bottles back when this was released a few years ago. Looking wonderful...
Producer: Peggy et Jean-Pascal Buronfosse
Region: Rotalier, Jura, France
Grapes: Chardonnay
An excellent wine all that reflects the place it was grown.
Notes of citrus, spice and peach with floral notes.
Threads the needle between richness and freshness. Medium bodied. Mineral crispness yet softly textured.
Lovely.
Nerd Notes:
Estate grown with organic and biodynamic viticulture practices.
Less than 0.3 ha of chardonnay grown on a beautiful vineyard of clay over limestone, containing countless fossils of Ammonites (a huge Jurassic era sea snail mollusc).
Whole bunches, direct pressed, then aged 18 months topped up in old oak.
No fining or filtering, no added sulphur.
