A complex and textual Beaujolais, fresh and a touch on the earthier side. Bright red cherries and berries and floral aromatics on the fore, with darker cherries and blue fruits, spice, and subtle earth coming through at the back of the palate.
Semi-carbonic maceration for 11 days then aging in fiber vats for 7 months.

NERD NOTES
Viticulture:
- 10 year old gamay fines
- Half hectare in Blacé, with rich clay soil
- Just cuts the grass/weeds, no working of the soils
- Organic farming for 20 years, but only certified from the 2023 vintage onwards
Vinification:
- Hand harvest at the start of September, 2022
- Lightly crushed, then semi-carbonic maceration for 11 days in fibreglass, before being basket pressed
- Eight months in fibreglass
- Bottled in May, 2023
- No Fining, No Filtering, No Added SO2
ABOUT BON PAS
Bon Pas is the estate of Nicolas Bompas.
Before starting his own estate he worked in some wonderful estates such as Gramenon and Cras. Plus for the last couple of years he has also been a winemaker at Romuald Valot.
In 2021 he decided to settle in Beaujolais and has slowly started to purchase vineyards, of which he currently has only a small holding. The vines are organically farmed with the use of horses for the vineyard work. The winery is located in Saint Etienne des Ouilleres and no additions are used including sulphur.
