La Commanderie de la Bargemone - Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Rose 2020

From a certified organic producer of that most ubiquitous and refreshing of drinks, Provence Rose. Intensely floral aromas with a fresh, mineral edge.

This is a beautiful property, including a 13th century stone building established by Knights of the Templar, and a single site vineyard growing Cinsault, Cunoise, Vermentino, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

NERD NOTES

Organic viticulture demands precision and consistency, and at La Commanderie de la Bargemone, they monitor their processes closely all year round, both in the vineyard and the winery. Grapes are harvested at night to preserve freshness, cooled again and pressed. The musts are then vatted and cold-soaked for five days at temperatures of 2°C, before commencing fermentation at 16°C. Each variety is vinified separately. Wines are blended in December and bottled early the following year.
