Chardonnay with butter and balance from Gippsland.

Nectarine and lemon curd fruit flavours, freshly baked biscuit spice, buttscotch, and saline-mineral aspect holding it all together.
Gently layered on the palate, smooth in texture, fresh acidity, medium bodied, and dry.

Nerd Notes

Producer: Lightfoot Wines
Region: Gippsland, Victoria
Grapes: Chardonnay

Chardonnay from the Myrtle Point Vineyard in the coastal Gippsland Lakes District. The vineyard lies on a high limestone buff above the Mitchell River, with Terra Rossa over Limestone soils.

Grapes are picked and pressed, with juice run directly to barrel.
Fermented to completion, stirring on lees, and then aged for 9 months all in barrel - using large French oak puncheons (500L) and a few oak hogsheads (300L), 15% new oak - before being blended and bottled.

Filtered with minimal added sulphur before bottling.
