Marco Merli - Janus Rosso 2017

A richly dry and earthy Sangiovese from Umbria, Italy. 

Notes of ripe dark cherries, tarte berries, a touch of bramble and spice, with dried herbs  and freshly tilled earth. Weighty and rich on the palate, with a deliciously earthy yet moreish dryness to it. Structured with grippy tannins and balancing acidity. Long and dry on the finish.

Beautifully opens up in the glass, revealing depth and complexity. Perfect by itself or with food - think red meats and pizza.
