A fresh, juicy, and super easy to enjoy Pinot from Yarra.
A hint of bronzy colour and cosy aromas of dried leaves, bergamot tea, red cherry, a bit of plum, and a little mint in the mix.
On the palate that cherry note carries through, plus some earthy spice, clove, and maybe a touch of hazelnut. Bright, lively, and seriously tasty.
Nerd Notes
Pinot Noir from Wonga Park Vineyard in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. The vineyard is characterized by grey-brown sandy loam overlaying a mix of rocky, clay subsoil.
Grapes were completely destemmed and spontaneously fermented with wild yeasts, seeing a single punchdown once a day for 2 weeks on skins.
The wine was then pressed into old oak where it was aged for 9 months.
Bottled unfined, untilered, and with minimal added sulphur.
