We continue our compass based exploration of wine, this time heading to the sunny coast of Valencia and the south east of Spain.
This warm and sunny part of Spain has mostly been known for producing wines at the more affordable end of the scale. The region’s easy climate makes it perfect for growing large amounts of fruit at lower prices.
However, like much of Europe, there is a more interesting side to the wines made here. An increasing number of smaller producers are creating interesting wines from native varieties and high-quality vineyards.
The two most famous varieties are probably Bobal and Monastrell (Mourvedre), both of which we will be having a nice long look at.
EVENT DETAILS
Our wine tastings finish at 8:30 pm. They sometimes go a little over but we try to have everything officially wrapped up by then and let people hang back and chat if they like.
In terms of food, we will have some nibbles but not full meals. The snacks vary for each event. It is quite common for people to head next door to the wine bar for dinner after a tasting.
Tickets are non-refundable but can be exchanged for credit up to 7 days before the event. This cannot be done closer to the event as we order wines based on ticket sales. If you cannot make the event, you are welcome to give your tickets to someone else, like a gift!
