Vedrenne - Verveine du Velay Gold

A herbal liqueur made with lemon verbena from the Auvergne.

Notes of lemon verbena, liquorice, wormroot, spearmint, vanilla, anise, and alpine botanicals. Smooth with a touch of viscosity on the palate. Has a slight herbal bitterness on the back of the palate.

The Lemon Grass Verbena is grown by the distillery, planting each year in June and harvesting before frost, and is then dried with the leaves removed by hand.

The production process takes approximately 18 months, and is broken down into three key stages. The Verbena is first macerated to transfer it's flavours into the final spirit. It is then distilled using traditional techniques and red copper pot stills. And finally, it is left to age in oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months.
