Tasting Notes

Sweet, evocative fruit notes, almost concentrated enough to be described as dessicated, combine with musky salinity. Youthful, full, richly textured on the palate, with a minerally bite and lemon-salty characteristics.

Producer: Vincent Caillé
Region: Monnières - Muscadet, Loire Valley, France
Grapes: Melon de Bourgogne

Nerd Notes

Melon de Bourgogne, of Gabbro terroir. This wine is the product of a collaboration of a small, informal group of winemakers from the Nantes region, calling themselves “Les Affranchis”. The objective in the winemaking process is simple yet ambitious: always focus on optimal quality. Organic methods are used in the vineyards and cellar, as well as biodynamic practices used in viticulture.
