Antonio Madeira - Palhete Ainda 2021

A super good wine from one of the stand out minimal intervention producers of Portugal.

This is a traditional 'palhete' wine, a field blend combining white and red grapes all fermented together.

A fresh, mineral light red of real deliciousness. Loads of red fruits and spice. Surprisingly complex and pretty serious despite the general easy drinkingness. Delicious.

Serve with a slight chill.

NERD NOTES

A field blend of about 40 varieties, 75% red, 25% white. 100% destemmed for a 4-5 day pre-fermentation cold maceration, brought back to ambient temp for spontaneous fermentation over 15 days. 8 months’ elevage in tank. Unfined, unfiltered, low sulfur at bottling.
