Arnaldo Rossi 'Sella dell'Acuto' Sangiovese 2019 | Tuscany, Italy

An expressive and delicious old school Sangiovese from Tuscany.

Ripe red and black cherries, bright raspberry, dried thyme and oregano, tomato leaf, a touch of spice, and a distinct balsamic note. Elegant and structured on the palate, dry and medium bodied, with fine, grippy, wood tannin and earthy acidity. Super good.

Sangiovese from Arnaldo's tiny vineyard that has high elevation & soils rich in calcareous-clay. Half the wine is aged in cement while the other half is aged in old barrel. 

Selle means the "saddle of the hilltop", with the plot being at a particularly high elevation and quite exposed. The result is perfectly ripe Sangoivese.
