🍇 📍 Sicily

🍷 Light Reds

Tasting Notes

Dried black fruit, dried kitchen herbs, bracing acidity and something gently saline. Big grippy tannin. Dark, brooding and full bodied.

I swoon for this handsome cat.

Producer: Biscaris
Region: Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Sicily
Grapes: Frappato

Nerd Notes

11 biodynamic ha farmed by Antonia Guardabasso and her daughter-in-law, Veronica Gentoli.

Soil is largely Terre Rosse, pink sands high in calcium carbonate. Good for bones and good for adding freshness to a rich wine.

Vinification occurs just metres away from the vineyard, with the wine fermented and aged in stainless steel. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal added sulphur.

They only pump out 70 to 80 thousand bottles of wine a year.

A bottle of Biscaris Frappato 'Costa Jatta' 2024 from Sicily, Italy - Dried black fruit, dried kitchen herbs, bracing acidity and something gently saline. Big grippy tannin. Dark, brooding and full bodied. I swoon for this handsome cat.
