An excellent Shiraz from McLaren Vale that rides that line between minimal intervention and classic.

Brooding on the nose with dark fruit, ripe plums and orange with notes of spice and anise.

Ripe black plums, dark berries, blood orange zest, with spiced notes of liquorice, nutmeg, and spicy paprika, rich earth, and a meaty tone.

Full and generous on the palate, fine rustic tannin, kept vibrant with a touch of acid, and a satisfying savoury character. Long on the finish, with spiced dark berries.

NERD NOTES

Shiraz from the estate's Omensetter Vineyard - planted in 1997, red-brown clay over limestone soil, lifted eastern exposure cooling, cooling sea breezes, organically farmed with a 'drought fighting recharge bore'.

Handpicked fruit, naturally fermented, 20% whole bunches, pressed to fine French hogsheads (mixed new and old) for 20 months.
