A rich and complex southern Rhone blend.

Bright fruit notes and a hint of pepper on the aroma. The palate is full of sweet raspberries and blackberries, alongside hints of dark fruits, white and black pepper, wild berries, black olives, oak spices, and a touch of earth. Medium bodied yet balanced, with chewy tannins cut through by acidity.

Its long and driven, resulting in the fruit taking a backseat at times, but never overwhelming.

NERD NOTES

The grapes were harvested from 29 August to 22 September, 2022.

Destemmed and partially blended when placed into the vats. Fermentation takes place over a long period of time with temperature control, preventing over extraction, with pump overs and délestage occurring as needed.

Free run and pressed juiced are blended together, with malolactic conversion and aging taking place in the vats.

Bottled on 8 February, 2023, before the hot temperatures of summer.

ABOUT LA COBOTTE

La Cabotte is a small yet influential biodynamic estate situated in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley. The domaine is run by Marie-Pierre d’Ardhuy-Plumet and Éric Plumet, who restored it after Marie-Pierre's father, Gabriel d'Ardhuy, bought it in 1981.

The domaine is situated in the heart of Massif d’Uchaux, in the Southern Rhône Valley, starting with 30 hectares of vines, before expanding to a neighbouring 12 hectare plot in Massif d’Uchaux, and another site situated in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Biodynamic farming is used to keep each site and the winemaking itself in tune with nature, resulting in wines that capture the unique terroir and vintages of each plot, while still giving imparting their signature style that is characterised by finesse and opulence.
