A classic Jura savagnin: rich, full bodied goodness.
Producer: Domaine Courbet - Jean-Marie and Damien Courbet
Region: Château-Chalon, Jura, France
Grapes: Savagnin
Delicate white florals, dried fruits, almonds, and spiced notes on the nose.
Concentrated in flavour, citrus fruits - ripe, baked, and spiced - with subtle apples and stone fruit, oxidative nuttiness, and sweet oak spices.
Rich and full bodied on the palate, lushly textured, vibrant acidity providing balance, finishes long with an oxidative, spiced character.
Nerd Notes:
Estate grown, organic and biodynamic viticulture, minimal added sulphur.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Domaine Courbet is a family legacy carried by father and son duo, Jean-Marie and Damien Courbet, which started nearly 200 years ago in 1869. With half of their vines located just below Chateau Chalon, arguably the best appellation of the region, and all vines farmed biodynamically, it's no wonder their limited production is so highly sought-after.
