A rich and powerful Sardinian red, made from the lesser known Monica grape variety.
Red and dark forest fruit notes, with cherries, plums, and small berries, accompanied by spiced notes of cinnamon, cloves, and white pepper, fresh Mediterranean herbs, and hints of aromatic dried florals.
Rich and smooth in character, full bodied and dry, with firm well-integrated tannin and a gentle line of acidity, with a long smooth finish.
Nerd Notes
The Dettori Family farms 29 hectares of the historic 'Badde Nigolosu' cru of Romangia in northern Sardinia. The family were some of the first Sardinians making natural wine, working exclusively with 'native' grape varieties and biodynamic practices. The vines are bush trained, growing in marl and Miocene sandstone soils.
