This is Jura Savagnin as it should be - deep, long and intense, yet very fine and refreshing.
Producer: Peggy et Jean-Pascal Buronfosse
Region: Rotalier, Jura, France
Grapes: Savaginin
Full of ripe, tangy tropical fruits along with notes of juicy pear and lemon, a powerful current of flinty minerality, toasted nuts - think walnuts and pecans - and a moreish saline quality.
Delightfully rich and creamy texture on the palate, medium bodied, kept fresh with electric lines of acidity, and a crunchy salty-mineral aspect.
Nerd Notes:
Estate grown with organic and biodynamic viticulture.
More recent planting on limestone and clay, 2 years in old oak topped up. Just Four barrels made. Savagnin (co-planted with Savagnin Vert, Savagnin Jaune, and Savagnin Rose)
No fining or filtering, no added sulphur.
