Enoliti Botanici 'Nyx' Aromatised Wine | Sicily, Italy

An wine based botanical infusion. Essentially a modern version of the ancient “medicinal wines” or tinctures. Created by a winemaker and herbalist with no added sugars, sulphites or fortification.

Nyx is named for the Greek goddess of the night, which is unbelievably metal.

Base wine of direct press Catarratto with a cold maceration of orange blossom, lavender flowers and chamomile flower.

Delicate and fragrant in style, gently bitter with plenty of floral notes balanced by the fruit sweetness. Delicious.

(We have classified this as a Spirit for simplicity sake, but it is an aromatised wine - made like an amaro or vermouth, but with an unfortified wine instead of a distilled spirit - best drunk within a week of opening.)
