Nerd Notes

Producer: Domaine des Entrefaux - Anne & François Tardy
Region: Crozes-Hermitage, Rhône Valley, France
Grapes: Syrah

Cuvees are organised by vine age, with 'Les Champs Fourne' coming from the domaine's youngest vines (approximately 15 years old), growing in two different plots.

The first lie on the chalky clay soils of the south facing hills around Mercurol, the second partly off the stony alluvial plateau.

Grapes are hand harvested and destemmed, fermented in concrete vats with native yeasts, before being gently pressed.

The wine is then aged for one year, 10-15% in old French oak barrels, with the remain split equally between stainless steel tank and ouef béton (concrete egg).

Bottled unfined, very lightly filtered, and with minimal added sulphur.
