Four excellent wines from Greece...

Behold. Discover a selection of Greek wines that we featured at our recent Rome v Greece Wine Tasting.

No flagons or beach retsina here. Our pack includes four wines showcasing different varieties and regions of Greece.

KAMARA PURE 'NIMBUS ALBUS' WHITE 2022 | Oraiokastro, Thessaloniki

  • Aromatic and Textural
A waxy and flavoursome blend featuring Malagousia and Assyrtiko—two of Greece’s most well regarded varieties. Both mineral and soft fruited. Ideal for seafood, creamy pastas, or solo midnight park drinking.

  • Nerd fact: Malagousia was almost extinct just a decade ago, and now it’s making a glorious comeback in modern Greek winemaking.

DOULOUFAKIS TACHTAS 2023 | Crete

  • Minerally and Peachy
This medium boded white wine is made with Tachtas—a rare, native variety known for its minerality and peachy fruit profile. Hard to find but unique and interesting. A great white for seafood dishes.

  • Nerd fact: Tachtas has often been overlooked on Crete in favour of more famous international grapes, such as the Great Weed Chardonnay.

THYMIOPOULOS 'YOUNG VINES' XINOMAVRO 2022 | Naoussa, Macedonia

  • Vibrant and Dark
A flavoursome red from one of Greece’s most important indigenous varieties. Dark fruited with lively acidity, try with lamb or your evening cheese bucket.

  • Nerd fact: Xinomavro is often referred to as the "Nebbiolo of Greece" due to its structure and age-ability. Bonus fact; Nebbiolo is rarely referred to as the "Xinomavro of Italy".

ZAFEIRAKIS LIMNIONA 2021 | Tyrnavos, Thessaly

  • Savory and Elegant
A medium bodied and dry wine, Limniona has an interesting mix of savory herbs and berry notes. Often compared to Pinot Noir, which is a wild claim and not super accurate. It is however an excellent food wine—think roasted vegetables, grilled meats and the occasional sheep's head.

  • Nerd fact: Limniona is a supposedly ancient grape variety that’s slowly making its comeback.
