A serious and age-worthy Etna Rosso made from old-vine Nerello Mascalese grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. 'Aetneus' is I Custodi’s flagship wine—complex, earthy, and elegant, with wild herbs, dusty cherry and flinty minerals all showing through.
Aromas: Dried cherry, rose, black tea, wild thyme.
Flavour: Savoury red fruit, crushed rock, fine tannins.
Texture: Structured, persistent, with volcanic grip.
Pairing: A lamb shoulder you've been waiting all day for, charred radicchio with too much vinegar (but it works), or any tomato-based dish; a friend to all of Etna. Best enjoyed with someone who’s down to argue about wine, but gently.
Producer: I Custodi
Region: Mount Etna - Sicily, Italy
Grapes: Nerello Mascalese
