Champagne style sparkling wine from Anjou in the Loire Valley, made from Cab Franc.
Zero dosage, no sulphur. Looks like pale grapefruit skin. Smells of red apple skins, grapefruit pith, a bitter herb note — somewhere between wormwood and dried thyme — and a faint savoury hum, like damp stones. Bone dry.
The bubbles are fine but firm. There's grip, not just acid — the tannin shows through in that Cabernet Franc way. Nothing fluffy here. It’s precise, stripped back, and quietly intense. Deliciously good.
