A Chianti that effortlessly dances that line between rustic and elegant. 

Bright tart cherry giving way to a soft earthy mushroom like flavors. Your left with fine lingering tannins and a strong urge to move the Italian country-side to open a book store/wheelbarrow repair shop.

NERD NOTES

Located a scant 20km outside the boundary of Chianti Classico the Estat state was founded in 1770. Which is the same year Captain Cook landed in Australia and Beethoven was born; other less interesting things happened as well. 

Throughout the 1980’s they slowly implemented bio-dynamic participles in the vineyard; culminating in the acquisition of Demeter status in 1995 (Which means they are taking real good care of the land basically).

Soil is predominately clay and limestone with some galestro; A crumbly, schist based soil. All of which is pretty chianti-y.

Spontaneous ferment in concrete and then extended ageing in Old Chestnut barrels.
