From the En Papolet vineyard on the pink decomposed granite soils of Chenas, Beaujolais. 15 days of semi-carbonic maceration, 100% whole bunch, 15 days liquid phase fermentation, no sulfites addition.
A complex and serious Beaujolais. Elegant with spicy red cherries, blue fruit and a touch of earth. Smooth and juicy on the palate but balanced by fine acid and tannin. Rare and very good.

ABOUT OBORA
Obora is the estate of Angela Quiblier & Hugo Foizel.
They first arrived in Beaujolais in 2019 where they co-managed the Domaine de Jeunes Pousses with owners Thibault and Ivan, who had more fields than they wanted to manage.
Now they rent their own plot within the En Papolet vineyard in Chenas. The winery is certified organic and they practice biodynamic in the vineyard. Minimal sulphur only is used at bottling.
Name is a combination of their birthplaces and where they have worked together: Aube, Beaujolais and Jura. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me but I am just going off what they told me here.
They are still young and new on the scene but are already showing potential. Only one wine was produced in 2021.
