A beautiful light and playful red blend from Renzaglia Wines, with grapes sourced from vineyards across NSW.
Pretty on the nose, with fresh red berries, earth, and spice. Light bodied, tangly tannins, and lines of acid, making for a refreshing textured plate. Fresh raspberry, cranberry, blackberry undercurrent, berry candies, along with earth, rosemary, white pepper, cocoa, with with a moreish, bitter herbacous finish.
Its bordering between a dark rose and a light red, but its absolutely delicious.
Producer: Renzaglia Wines
Region: Mudgee, Kingsvale, and Gemalla, New South Wales
Grapes: Sangiovese, Graciano, Merlot, Shiraz, and Cabernet
NERD NOTES
"Another multi regional light red blend to stop the nation. The 204 Nuovo di Renzo is made with Sangiovese from First Ridge Wines in Mudgee, Graciano and Merlot from Freeman Vineyards at Kingsvale, and Shiraz and Cabernet from Winooka Park, Gemalla."
"As always, a swathe of different maceration techniques utilised to create a fine boned wine that exhibits tension between freshness, savouriness and lightness whilst retaining adequate tannin weight and depth. The blend was brought together in one of our Nico Velo concrete tanks in April and was held there on full lees without any additions made for 8 months when the wine was racked to tank for bottling with a light sulphur addition."
