An interesting blend from the granite soil hills west of Chavanay. Fresh, bright and medium bodied red with cherry, wild berries and kitchen herbs. Vibrant and alive.

Nerd Notes:

Estate grown grapes from St Joseph, with organic cultivation.

Whole bunch ferment in concrete vat. Elevage in older 228-litre oak casks for about a year before bottling. Mornen Noir is super, super rare.

Bottled with no added sulphur.

THE PRODUCER

From a restaurant background and working as a chef, Simon spent his youth in the vineyards and forged his palate with a wine-loving grandfather. After travelling for a bit, in South America, Simon return to work with his mentor and iconic producer André Perret based in Condrieu / St Joseph. Established since 2017 in Bessey, in this little clayey and mineral terroir, Simon created some delicious expressions of the appellation; a modern and fresher style of wine.
